Dove Cameron is much more than Maleficent’s daughter (according to Disney’s movie, Descendants). This mega star and singer jumped into a new arena recently with her re-imagined “Genie in a Bottle” cover.

Why did Dove Cameron take on Christina Aguilera’s first pop smash from the 90s? The video echoes the storyline from the spin-off shorts, Descendants: Wicked World, where the kids of Auradon find themselves inside a magic lamp.
In the music video, Mal says, “Well, must be kinda nice to be a Genie, huh, Jordan. Wish I had your kind of magic.” Then poof. Mal transports into the lamp. Luckily, her awesome dance moves take over.
